November '24 Newsletter

As the days get colder, there's always a warm welcome waiting for you at CyclAbility! We've been delighted to read the positive feedback we've received from our recent evaluation report. Participants highlighted the sense of freedom, hope, and confidence that cycling brings them, which is always heartwarming to see. If you're interested in reading more, the full report is available on our website here: [Impact-Report]. A big thank you to everyone who provided feedback!

Advising on Session Availability in Severe Weather

We remain open in all weather conditions, as long as the cycling conditions are safe, and we have enough staff. If there’s a severe weather warning with advance notice, we will inform you of any planned cancellations via email and post a notification on our website under the "News" section. In rare cases, such as last Tuesday when we had snow, we might need to decide on the day. If this occurs, we'll update the "News" section on the website, and you'll receive an email notification.

Please ensure that anyone else who needs this information (such as alternate carers or supporters) subscribes to our news feed via the "Log In" button on our website. We kindly ask that you refrain from calling or emailing on the morning of a session, as we may be busy setting up or running the session and unable to respond.

Festive Period Opening Hours

We will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th and Friday, December 27th. We'll reopen on Tuesday, December 31st. Feel free to bring festive treats to share during our sessions on the 17th and 20th of December!

Parking Guidance

Due to overcrowding in the small car park at the far end of the track, which has led to some tricky manoeuvres and occasional blockages, we kindly ask that you park in the lower car park unless you have a specific reason to park near the track. You can walk up via the small side gate - and it's a great way to get in a little extra exercise and maybe even make a pit stop at the loos along the way!

Changes to the Booking System in 2025

From 1st January 2025, we will transition to a single £5 contribution per session. This change will allow you to reschedule existing bookings up to 48 hours before your slot, which is not doable with our current system. It's the first increase in 12 years, and the change will help us maintain the sustainability of our sessions, which are largely supported by grants. (The actual full cost per person per session is currently £11). Bookings for 2025 are now available on the website.
