News 31st August 2022

Dear All

Gio from Van Raam returned on Tuesday with an EasyRider and everyone who tried it loved it (see vidoes on our Facebook page).  Sadly he wasn’t able to leave it with us but we are now actively looking at ways to acquire one.

Upcoming Sessions
We are continuing with sessions every Fridays with slots at 10, 11 and 12 and every Tuesday with slots at 10 and 11. If you’ve not yet booked a slot (for Tuesdays or Fridays), please email Jennifer@wfaoxford.org. Please remember that a consent form needs to be submitted online for any new participants at the latest by midday the day before (together with online contribution – £3 per session).  Participants will not be allowed to cycle if a consent form has not been submitted.

Outspoken Cycling 10-11 September to celebrate women’s voices in cycling
Jennifer has been invited to represent Wheels for All Oxford on the Saturday afternoon (as we have been nominated as their Charity partner) and she would like to attend with any interested participants or volunteers.  We’ve been allocated 10 free VIP tickets – please see the following link if you’re interested (or speak to Jennifer if you want to know more): https://ti.to/outspoken/outspoken-2022/with/wheels4all-vip-ticket

Volunteers

We’d love to have more volunteers to help run our sessions (and help with other things in the background).  If you can spare an hour or two whether to help get the cycles out, help participants try out different cycles or help put cycles away at the end of the session – all help is very welcome!  If you’d like more information, please contact Jennifer or Steve. There is also info on our website.

 Covid

Although rates have fallen, please continue to be careful. We recommend wearing masks when in close proximity and maintaining a safe distance when chatting. Please don’t some to a session if you have any symptoms (eg runny nose, sore throat, headache, fatigue etc) or if you or someone in your household has Covid or tested positive in the last 7-10 days. Whilst for many the symptoms may be relatively mild, the large number of infections mean that the number of people being hospitalized is increasing and many of our participants are vulnerable so please take care, Please use the hand sanitiser on arrival and, if our volunteers are busy, please help sanitise the cycles between users.

Please spread the word about our sessions – both to participants and potential volunteers.
