News 23rd August 2022

Many thanks to Gio from Van Raam for bringing some of their cycles to the session yesterday, lots of people enjoyed trying them.  He’s coming back next Tuesday with more, hopefully including an EasyRider and says he can leave them with us for a week so lots of opportunities to try out some very smart adapted cycles.  We had a great turn out on Tuesday – many thanks to everyone for coming – and many thanks to our new volunteers for helping.

Upcoming Sessions
We are continuing with sessions every Fridays with slots at 10, 11 and 12 and every Tuesday with slots at 10 and 11. If you’ve not yet booked a slot (for Tuesdays or Fridays), please email Jennifer@wfaoxford.org. Please remember that a consent form needs to be submitted online for any new participants at the latest by midday the day before (together with online contribution – £3 per session).  Participants will not be allowed to cycle if a consent form has not been submitted.

Volunteers

We would still like to recruit more volunteers to help at Tuesday and Friday sessions and/or helping at sessions or with behind the scenes work.  If you can spare an hour or two whether to help get the cycles out, help participants try out different cycles or help put cycles away at the end of the session – all help is very welcome!  If you’d like more information, please contact Jennifer or Steve (07764 950685 or 07736 069632). There is also info on our website.

 Covid

Although rates have fallen, please continue to be careful. We recommend wearing masks when in close proximity and maintaining a safe distance when chatting. Please don’t some to a session if you have any symptoms (eg runny nose, sore throat, headache, fatigue etc) or if you or someone in your household has Covid or tested positive in the last 7-10 days. Whilst for many the symptoms may be relatively mild, the large number of infections mean that the number of people being hospitalized is increasing and many of our participants are vulnerable so please take care, Please use the hand sanitiser on arrival and, if our volunteers are busy, please help sanitise the cycles between users.

Please spread the word about our sessions – both to participants and potential volunteers.
