Newsletter 28th June 2022

Dear All

We’ve got lots of people signed up for the special Wheels for All/Bike Oxford inclusive session this Friday 1 July but we can still fit a few more in. If you’ve not yet booked a slot (at 10, 11 or 12) for this week, please email Jennifer@wfaoxford.org ASAP.

Bike Oxford will be providing medals for everybody achieving their personal challenge – so decide what you want to do and we will help you achieve it. There will be refreshments and music too. Please feel free to dress up as you wish to add to the fun.

As it will be a busy session, participants will access the track through the usual entrance but will exit though the gates opposite the door to the toilets. The medals and refreshments will be located in that area (and volunteers will return your cycle back to the other entrance).

As previously advised, our Tuesday sessions will commence on Tuesday 5 July. We’ll run slots at 10am and 11am to start with. The track is not available on 12th and 19th July, so the Tuesday sessions will then resume weekly from 26th July. Jennifer will be taking bookings for these as usual, so please let her know if you are interested. For those looking to bring large groups to the sessions, Tuesdays may be better as there is likely to be a greater availability of cycles.

If anyone wishes to help at the Tuesday sessions, please let us know. As usual, volunteers are free to attend whenever is convenient for them and for whatever part of the morning suits them.

Covid infections are on the rise again so please be cautious. Government guidelines continue to advise caution when in close proximity to anyone who may be at higher risk of becoming seriously ill. Many of our participants are vulnerable, so please do not attend a WFA session if you think you might be infected or if you have had recent close contact with someone, eg in your household, who has Covid-19. Possible symptoms include runny nose, sore throat, headache and fatigue.

Hand sanitiser is provided on the reception desk and surface cleaner on the table by the entrance to the track. Please help yourself to wipe down bikes before/after use if our volunteers are busy with other participants. Cleaning materials are also provided near the toilet.

Looking forward to an extra special event on Friday – see you there!
