Dear All
Thankyou
We had a fantastic session on Friday, many thanks to Bike Oxford for all their help, many thanks to the High Sheriff for presenting medals to everyone, many thanks to all the volunteers and many thanks to everyone who came and helped make it a great event. There are lots of photos on our Facebook page and lots of happy, smiling faces. If you’ve got more photos, please add them to the page.
Future Sessions
Our Friday sessions continue as normal and now Tuesday sessions (weekly from Tues 26 July until further notice). The Tuesday session is ideal for those who prefer it a bit quieter or want a greater choice of cycles and for groups who come together.
If you’ve not yet booked a slot (for Tuesdays or Fridays), please email Jennifer@wfaoxford.org no later than by midday the day before.
Volunteers
As we are expanding the number of sessions we are running, we’d love to enlarge the number of volunteers that come to help. Anyone interested, please come and see what we do any time between 9.30am and midday on a Friday morning (or Tuesday from 26 July). We are happy for all help that is offerred, whether occasionally or regularly, part of the morning or the whole morning – whatever suits you. If you’d like more info, please contact us.
As many of you know, Josh (our ace mechanic and master of packing trikes into the cabin) is now on his way back to Australia. We will miss him greatly, but are very grateful for all his help over the past 12 months – thanks Josh and Bon Voyage!
Covid
We still need to take care to avoid Covid infections as they have increased sharply again. Government guidelines continue to advise caution when in close proximity to anyone who may be at higher risk of becoming seriously ill. Many of our participants are vulnerable, so please do not attend a WFA session if you think you might be infected or if you have had recent close contact with someone, eg in your household, who has Covid-19. Possible symptoms include runny nose, sore throat, headache and fatigue.
Hand sanitiser is provided on the reception desk and surface cleaner on the table by the entrance to the track. Please help yourself to wipe down bikes before/after use if our volunteers are busy with other participants. Cleaning materials are also provided near the toilet.
